Tiny Eden Drones
The automation layer: eight drone tasks confirmed in the May 2026 playtest.
Facts last checked: August 28, 2026 · full re-check at launch on September 7, 2026
Pre-release coverage: everything below comes from official store pages, developer announcements and demo hands-on. We re-verify every fact at launch on September 7, 2026.
Drones Overview
Drones are Tiny Eden's automation system, introduced as an "MVP version" in the May 22, 2026 playtest update. They take over routine gardening chores so you can focus on layout, breeding and the market — a natural fit for the game's smart-garden fantasy. The store page pitches automation as part of the late-game loop ("set up automation, craft your space").
Confirmed Drone Tasks
All eight tasks below are quoted from the official playtest announcement (May 22, 2026):
| # | Task | Condition noted by the developers |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Filling pots with soil | Needs enough soil in the station |
| 2 | Planting seeds | Needs seeds available in the station |
| 3 | Watering plants | — |
| 4 | Removing weeds | — |
| 5 | Harvesting crops | — |
| 6 | Removing dead plants | — |
| 7 | Removing damaged leaves | — |
| 8 | Pollinating plants | Marked "not testable yet" at playtest time |
What the Current Demo Shows
The eight tasks above are from the May 2026 playtest notes, not a demo tutorial. Current-demo playthroughs (July 2026 build) show a double gate:
- The apartment has a drone hub from the start, but it does nothing until you buy a drone ($150 in the shop) and unlock the skill Drone Activity: Watering on the I panel.
- A 7h44m demo playthrough on July 9, 2026 (auto captions) reached the lab, tomatoes and cauliflower, still could not use the drone, and the streamer compared it to an older playtest where drones already watered pots. Steam reviews independently complain that the drone has no tutorial — labelled as player reports.
Until we run our own hands-on, treat "bought but idle" as the working demo assumption.
Open Questions for Launch
- How drones unlock, how many you can run, and upgrade paths — TBA for 1.0. Demo playthroughs only confirm the $150 + watering-skill gate.
- Launch-version completeness (the playtest called it an early MVP; pollination was not yet testable in May 2026).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do drones work in Tiny Eden?
Drones automate up to eight gardening tasks — filling pots, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, removing dead plants and damaged leaves, and pollinating — provided their station is stocked with soil and seeds (official playtest announcement, May 22, 2026).
Can drones fully automate the garden?
Unclear for the launch version. The May 2026 playtest shipped drones as an early "MVP" and pollination was not yet testable; we will re-verify scope at launch (official playtest announcement, May 22, 2026).
